Caleb Bergeleen CF, APF-I
A second generation farrier with over 30 years experience, Caleb quite literally grew up in the business of horseshoeing. Caleb was shoeing horses well before he was old enough to drive a car. A retired rodeo contestant himself, Caleb appreciates the intricacies of the equine industry and the rigorous demands placed on the musculoskeletal system of an equine athlete.
Caleb has experience in a vast array of breeds and disciplines from gaited horses, race horses, rodeo, to jumpers and dressage horses. While the equine digit may not have changed much in the past 30 years, the way we manage pathologies of the hoof continues to change. Caleb prioritizes continuing education, client satisfaction and evidence based therapeutic shoeing to provide the most comprehensive hoof care possible.
Caleb is an AFA certified farrier and has maintained his professional farrier credential through the IAPF, while also serving on the board of directors for the IAPF. When he is not shoeing, he is teaching various shoeing clinics or collaborating on projects with podiatry colleagues.
Caleb served as the resident farrier at Elgin Veterinary Hospital for over a decade before relocating his business (The Shoeing Shop) to the hill country and teaming up with Oak Valley Veterinary Services to offer the most comprehensive hoof care available.
