A prepurchase examination provides the buyer with valuable information about the horse's current condition and suitability for the buyer's intended use. The prepurchase exam provided by Oak Valley Veterinary Services is a thorough evaluation of all body systems, with radiographic imaging, endoscopy and bloodwork strongly encouraged.

Contrary to popular opinion, a horse will not pass or fail a prepurchase exam. Rather, we provide information to the buyer regarding the horse's condition, and allows the buyer to decide whether they feel that horse is a good fit for them. We pride ourselves on providing an open line of communication between all parties before, during, and after the examination but our primary responsibility is to that of the buyer.
